The Grants Pass School District has hired Dr. Michael Shunk as Gladiola High School’s next principal.

He has a track record for creating a positive, caring, inclusive, school community, where attendance, engagement, and student accomplishments increase as a result.

“I am excited to be a part of the already very strong team at Gladiola,” Dr. Michael Shunk says, “and I will work tirelessly to provide, education, hope, and opportunity for our Gladiola students.”

“Dr. Shunk is a tremendous addition to our leadership team here at Grants Pass School District 7, bringing quality experiences of working with the most at-risk youth,” Superintendent Kirk Kolb says. “He is very passionate, thoughtful, and works hard for students to ensure every student has a chance at a better future.”

Dr. Shunk officially begins his position on August 1, 2021. He is replacing Kelly Marval who retired at the end of the 2020-21 school year after serving District 7 for 28 years.
